Donations and Contributions to the Foundation
We all lose when potential students are forced to choose rent and food over books and tuition. For want of a few hundred dollars, too many students are denied the opportunity to enhance the quality of their lives and to participate in the strengthening of our community.
While California’s community colleges are extraordinarily cost-effective and efficient, it is getting more expensive to attend. The State budget is continually reducing its share of our costs, forcing students to shoulder an increasing portion of the burden.
Be Part of the Solution
You can be part of the solution! A tax-deductible gift of any amount to the Peralta Colleges Foundation can help us help students achieve their dream. With your assistance, the Foundation can continue to provide students with scholarships, grants and book purchase assistance.
Ways To Give:
An outright gift of cash (check, credit card, or if you are a Peralta employee, payroll deduction) is the simplest way to support the Foundation’s scholarship and grants program.*
- Make checks to Peralta Colleges Foundation with a note in the memo line as to how the donation should be used.
- For credit card donations, use our secure online-giving tool by clicking the Donate Now on the right or call us for a form that we can send via email, fax or U.S. Mail.
Gifts of appreciated securities and mutual funds have tax benefits, too.
Make a pledge (a gift paid over three to five years) using a check, credit card, or appreciated securities or mutual funds.*
Use a bequest, made in your will or through a trust, to create a Planned Gift to Peralta Colleges Foundation. Below is sample language you to get your started with when you meet with your attorney, accountant, or financial planner in creating a planned gift.
Cash
- “I bequest the sum of $___ to the Peralta Colleges Foundation (Federal Tax ID 23-7091547), a nonprofit corporation under the Internal Revenue Service section 501(c)(3) located at 333 East 8th Street, Oakland, CA 94606, in support of the (name program/purpose of gift) within the Peralta Community College District.”
Percent of Estate
- “I devise and bequeath ___ percent of the remainder and residue of property owned at my death, whether real or personal and wherever located, to the Peralta Colleges Foundation, (Federal Tax ID 23-7091547), a nonprofit corporation under the Internal Revenue Service section 501(c)(3) located at 333 East 8th Street, Oakland, CA 94606, in support of the (name program/purpose of gift) within the Peralta Community College District.”

All charitable gifts to Peralta Community College District are accepted and administered by the Peralta Colleges Foundation, a non-profit corporation under the Internal Revenue section 501(c)(3) and an auxiliary of the Peralta Community College District. Our federal tax number is 23-7091547.
